New Swing

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa
We tried out the new swing today, that you got for me.
I really like it and it's easy to sleep in.
Thanks for my "birthday" present!

2 Weeks Old

I just love this picture. My little sleeping peanut. Isn't he sweet?
We realized tonight that we still had no pictures of Chad and I both with Isaac. We had Chris take a picture. Not the best one ever, but it will do.

To celebrate being two weeks old, we met up with the Carlson's. Well, sort of to celebrate, but mostly to chat and catch up since we both had baby boys recently. Reese and Isaac are gonna be good friends!
Reese was born in February at around7 pounds ....This picture should give you an idea of how big our little guy is.... definitely doesn't look like a newborn!

When you find a good place to sleep, enjoy it!

Big Boy

Isaac isn't a newborn anymore (in my books anyway). He woke up this morning and his "billy" cord had fallen off. Man... Two weeks have gone really fast. I cannot imagine going back to work in a month ( or even sending him to daycare).

This week was busy. Isaac and I went to Two Springs as well as Leonard Lawrence (the schools I have worked at). He met my old kids and staff that I worked with as well as the kids who had been yelling and screaming at him all this year. We also went to the 4th and 5th grade concert for the kids of Two Springs last night. Isaac slept through the whole thing.

Everyone is adjusting well it seems.

Comparing pictures

We don't have the hospital picture so my home picture will have to do...

I originally thought Isaac looked a lot like me, then we found pictures of Christopher (older brother age 11) and he looked very similar to him but then my mom sent me a baby picture of me from the hospital. Now I think he looks like me again. You decide...

ISAAC... age 1 week
KATIE - at Birth (hospital picture)

Our little man...

We just went to the doctor for our one week well-baby check-up. The doctor said everything looks good. Isaac is in the 95th percentile for weight ( 9lbs 11 oz today - with a wet diaper - The nurse was afraid of getting sprayed!) and the 90th percentile for height (21 1/2 inches long).
We (both Isaac and I) go back for check-ups at the end of May.

One week old

My family was able to make it into town to visit over the weekend of Isaac's birth. Grandpa Steve (middle name giver for Isaac) had to go back to Clear Lake and work for the week, but came back this weekend to spend a little more time with Isaac.

I was fortunate enough to have my mom stay in town this entire week to help adjust to bringing home a baby. Her help was so appreciated and can never be repayed (though I think she might have enjoyed it just a little!!!)
Grandpa and Aunt Annie came back to pick up Grandma Carol this weekend, and they all fought to hold Isaac as much as possible. I think he'll be loved....
Isaac says, "I love my Aunt.... Her green shirt is very bright! She thinks I am cute too!"

On Saturday April 18th, Isaac turned a week old. The 1st week held many new experiences.

For Isaac:

* Meeting my Mom and Dad

* Meeting my brothers, and a very furry 4-legged friend

* Meeting my Grandma Carol and Grandpa Steve, and Aunt Annie

* Going home

* Going to church

* Going to 2 roller hockey games

* Going to Swim lessons - not for me yet!

* Going to school with my brothers

* Going out to eat at Red Robin

For Mom:

* Bringing home a baby (this goes for Daddy too!)

* Getting less sleep and still functioning fairly well (Dad too...again!)

* Not having any clothes to wear on Tuesday when we got home

* Taking a lot more time to get ready to go places, and having to plan trips around baby eating times. (I think Daddy would agree here too)

* Crying at random times for no apparent reason... and crying at times because of pure joy!

* Wearing pre-pregnancy pants to church on Saturday.... They have a button and a zipper!!! Wahoo!!!

It was a good first week. Let's see what week 2 brings. We will be sure to keep the pictures coming.

Update

We have at the most... a week and a half till we meet our munchkin. The doctor has a hunch that we will have him sometime this week, however if that is not the case, he will look to induce us by next Wednesday the 15th of April.

I plan to work through this week and then be done. Hopefully, I can be "ready" by then.

Otherwise... no news to report!

Counting the days

One week and counting....

The doctor had given us a window for our due date with the earliest being April 9th and the latest being April 12th. That means we are in the final countdown!

The lady at the gas station's advice (drink a cherry limeade from Sonic) does not induce labor. Therefore - I am in the process of cleaning the house. Maybe this will get things moving along. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow (Monday) at 3:00. Hopefully we are still progressing.

This waiting game is hard!!! Baby Thomson...we are ready for you... so any day now would be great!
