What's New

First of all.... Something weird is up with Blogger. I have tried to change things and add color, but it always deletes it. Took 3 tries to get the pictures posted for Sweetie Pie in the Sky.

Well I forgot to write last week about Isaac's final trip to Midland's Hospital. We have been going there every other week for a Mommy and Me class. (It's basically a baby class for nursing moms - this is how we get an accurate weight on him so frequently!). Jill and Malachi went with us too. Since this was the last trip I had lots of questions. Now... to the weight

As of July 22nd, Isaac weighed 16 lbs 4 oz. YIKES! He is getting so big! He is up almost 7 lbs from birth. He is now almost 16 weeks old. I have about one more week of extended maternity leave (Aka summer) and then it is back to the daily grind.

Isaac initially rolled over from Tummy to Back towards his left. On Sunday, he again rolled from Tummy to Back only this time it was to his right. YEAH! He was showing off for Jill and trying to give Malachi a few pointers for the coming months.

Christopher and Shawn - My other two boys - come back from their summer visit to their mom's house in Kansas on Sunday. We are anxiously awaiting their return and the chance to get our family of 5 melded back together.

Tonight was the start of Football season here. Chad is possibly going to be assistant coaching again. Even though Chris isn't back yet, we both went to the draft tonight. (Yes they draft - It's a big city and competition starts young). Chris has moved up into the 11/12 year old leagues and Shawn has decided not to play this year. It was good to get out of the house, see familiar faces and rekindle old friendships. We go again on Thurs this week and then every day for the draft next week until the teams are chosen next Friday Aug. 7 (Which is also my first day back to work).

That's about all that's new around here. We'll keep you posted on any more changes/happpenings around these parts. Keep us posted on the news with you.

Pray for Stellan

This precious 8 month old peanut is fighting for his life as he has done for the majority of his life.
He has SVT - a severe heart condition
Over the weekend it became necessary for him to be hospitalized,
and things have very quickly gone downhill.
Please pray for him and his family.

It's good to be loved by you

Dear Aunt Annie,
I love you too! Thanks for snugglin me and taking good care of me while my mommy had to work. I am glad you like my smile and play with me, even when I puke on you a bit! Can't wait to see you again soon. Next time, make sure you pack my Grandma and Grandpa and that Tristan guy too. I am sending you big wet smoochy kisses on the nose.
Love,
Isaac

My Own Bed

Last night was Isaac's first night in his bed, in his own room.

I could watch him sleep all day.

Whew - What a week!

Initially, I was going to title this post... "The things you do for your children" but then I didn't get to the post in time and it has been almost a week since a funny thing happened to me.

As many of you know, I have chosen to nurse Isaac. While this has been extremely convenient up to this point, I got a taste of what life will be like providing sustinence for him when I return to work. Though pumping milk is not a difficult task, it can lead to some comedic events. For instance:

* A husband can walk in while you are in the process of pumping and all he has to do is say "Moo" and you suddenly recall how much you resemble a cow on a milking machine! (It's all in good humor and we both chuckle about the craziness of the contraption - I can only imagine how goofy it looks).

* While nursing is a convenient, free form of nutrition, it does provide for some very disgusting output on the opposite end of the body. I can officially say that Isaac has pooped on me. Not just a bit either.... Good thing we have taken up stock in SHOUT spray.

* Finally.... Pumping is intended to be done discretely. Thus, at training last week, I had to locate and use a classroom/hallway where it would be unlikely that someone would walk in on me. Mary (the trainer) was kind enough to allow me a comfortable space in the special education wing. On Monday, she showed me where I was going to be. It was great. There were rocking chairs and pillows. How Kind, I thought to myself. I took care of pumping and calling Chad to check on Isaac. Things were all good, until I tried to exit the hallway area. Umm... all the doors were locked! I literally could not exit the space. Thankfully, I had my phone right? Wrong. Mary did not answer her phone so I called the school's secretary. Yep the reception in that hall.... not so good! All she heard is that I was a nurse (not that I was nursing and where I had been to pump I was now locked in). Keep in mind - I am not familiar with the school. The secretary is demanding that I tell her what room I am in... I insist that I have no idea. This roundabout occurred for about 5 minutes. Finally, she sent the custodians to the wing and I continued shouting until they located me. The rest of the week I made certain that the door was either unlocked or propped open. All I can say is that I am sure this will not be the last time I do something embarrassing for my children. That is after all in the job description of a mom (parent) right?
This weekend Annie and Tristan came to visit. Tristan tested for the Papillion Fire Dept today. GOOD LUCK Tristan! We would love for him to get hired. He has been working so hard to make his dream job a reality.

Isaac snuggling up with Uncle T
(Tristan - I hope you don't mind we call you Uncle
but as far as we're concerned you are part of the family!)
Being cheesy with Aunt Annie

Sportin my fire truck shirt to wish Tristan good luck!

Thanks for coming to visit guys!

Houston...

We have a roller!

I am in a training all week and Chad is staying with Isaac during the day. Ike had just finished eating when I came home for the lunch break. He was on his tummy looking around. As Chad and I were eating, Isaac rolled from his front to his back. We couldn't believe he did it when we were both around and watching! I love watching him grow, though sometimes I think it is going too fast already. Chad and I were just talking about Shawn. He will be 9 on Saturday... 9 can you believe it? When Chad and I met, Shawn had just turned 4. He is getting so big! Makes us realize how quickly they grow and the time passes. What a joy it is to be a parent and cherish the sweet memories made along this crazy journey called LIFE!

3 Months Old

Wow - Three months has gone so fast! I don't know that we will get into a studio to get 3 month pictures taken so I took a few at home tonight. Here's our little peanut at 3 months old - Today 7/11/09

Isaac and Murphy
(Yes... Murphy has his eye on a treat!)

At 3 months - Isaac weighs 15 lbs 5 oz (Somewhere between the 75 - 90%)

We went to Clear Lake for the 4th of July celebration. I will post more pictures from the 4 day visit later, but I had to get this one on here now. It has to be my new favorite picture!

We are gonna be Best Buddies!

YEAH... My buddy Malachi is finally here!
I can hardly contain myself!
Please Mom...
Can we go play right now?
Can he come home with us?
PLEASE, Pretty PLEASE?

I am so happy to have my new buddy here.
Malachi and I are gonna be best buddies!
Dear Malachi -

I have waited almost 3 months for you to come out so we can play together. I am so glad you came early. Your mom said that you would come on June 30th, but I know how we babies can be. It's probably a good thing you listened to your mom. She is very happy to have you here. My mom says that we will get to see each other lots. Our big brothers are friends too. I can't wait for us to be friends. Welcome to the world! I am glad you're here!

Love,
Isaac

As you can see Isaac found his fingers. They are so good, he wouldn't even take them out for a picture at the hospital. I love that gummy little smile... with fingers and all!

Isaac isn't quite sure what to think of the baby who won't smile back at him. He recently figured out mirrors and just loves to smile at himself.

Malachi looks like he is done with pictures (NO more pictures please!)
