A Little Excitement (not much fun)

So .... This is how we spent our Saturday night last night. Yep...That's Isaac's admit bracelet for Children's Hospital of Omaha. At 4:00 Friday night, he was running a low grade 100 degree fever. Maybe teeth, maybe sick we thought. By 4:00 a.m. Saturday, He was up to 102.2. Time for some Tylenol. We were able to keep his fever down until about 5:00 when I gave him Tylenol...and he gave it back. From that point on his fever rose really fast. At 6:30 I took it again and the thermometer read 101.9 YIKES! So we took a trip to the ER. They took his temp and be 8:00 he was at 103.6! Now I just felt so crummythat I didn't bring him in earlier. But looking at this....
would you guess that he felt so bad?
A dose of motrin and some flirting with the nurses and we were on our way home.
In other news...
Football is going well for Chris. His team has taken quite a few bumps and bruises, but overall is going well. He loves watching, playing and talking about football.
Shawn is doing Tae Kwon Do and I have yet to get any decent pictures of him in action.
Isaac, when feeling well, is practicing rolling EVERYWHERE.
The only trouble is when the playmat won't cooperate.

The weather has been great around here.
Here's the view from where we sit.

My name is Kaylee Grace Traver! I contracted ecoli 0157 which has triggered the disease Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS). HUS is a disease that affects the kidneys and other organs.
Kaylee is the daughter of my college friend Jenn (Petter) Traver. She is currently at Children's Hospital in Souix Falls, SD. She is recieving dialysis and her kidney function seems to be slowly improving but any prayers you might offer her family would be great.
For more on her status and updates from her mom see http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kayleetraver/mystory

Football 2009

Football 2009 started last night with the pep rally. Chris moved up this year to the JETS. Shawn has decided not to play. We all ventured to the new field for the introduction of the players, coaches and cheerleaders.

P.S. Can I just say.... I am not so sure I am a "girl mom." The thought of the whole cheerleading ordeal just amazes me. Especially since some of the girls here start as young as 4. The cost incurred by these parents at such an early age is astonishing to me. Anyway, I am sure I could adjust if God gave us a girl (or another baby at all) but for now it seems a bit overwhelming to me.

5 months old

5 Month Pictures:

This little guy turned 5 months today. He is a very happy baby in general. We love his smiles, his giggles and the high-pitched shrieks he's recently discovered.
At 5 months Isaac
* is eating rice cereal
* rolls in both directions
* is sitting independently for increased lengths of time (last night for about 10 seconds).
* goes to bed at 9:30
* wakes at 6:00 (because Mom makes him)
* eats 6-7 times a day (6:15, 10:00, 1:30. 4:30, 7:30, 9:30)
* giggles
* is working on teeth - we think? Lots of drooling, low grade temp, little appetite
* makes our day, especially when work is rough

The latest

Well since I can't seem to get photos to load lately, I thought I would at least provide a written update.

Last Friday we went to the Bellevue East vs West Football Game. It was a night of firsts. Isaac's first football game, Shawn's first sleepover, and our first double sleepover (both kids having friends over on the same night). It was a beautiful night and the game was intense (well...at least it was after we left).

Sunday we went to the airshow. Everyone had a good time.

This week has been busy but good. Daycare has lots of bugs going around. We are in the clear so far so we will keep our fingers crossed that Isaac stays healthy.

Chad and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on Wednesday. We got new couches this summer and weren't supposed to be getting gifts. However, we all know how well husbands listen so at dinner I shouldn't have been surprised when a gift showed up with flowers. Chad got me a new camera - a Cannon SLR!!! It is a very nice digital camera and the pictures appear to be great. Can't wait to drive my kids batty with the new camera.... SAY CHEESE!!!

Mom, Dad and Annie come to visit tomorrow. Hopefully pictures will post tomorrow. The ones with Isaac at the airshow with headphones on are so funny!
