A few PIctures from the holiday break

We went to the Children's Museum the other day.

It was quiet for a while.

Until Isaac decided to liven things up a bit.

We got to talk with the Omaha Fire Dept.

That is who answers the Emergency Button (when pushed by small hands)
inside the elevator.

They (fortunately) ask if it is an emergency before truly dispatching the trucks.

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS!!!

We will try to stick with PRETENDING to be firemen, rather than hanging out with real ones!

Other than a trip to the zoo today (pics of that later)

and a few mornings spent in my classroom at school, we haven't done much of anything.....

Well, besides hang out in our jammies!

It has been VERY relaxing!

Just what I needed....

Christmas Pics

Just a few pics from our weekend.

Started Friday with Christmas with the big boys.

Isaac loved laying under the tree looking at the lights.

New Sleeping Bag and Pillow
We stayed in our jammies for a while on Saturday morning.

Daddy took the boys to their mom.

Baking Cookies for Santa after church on Christmas Eve.

Trying to sneak a bite....but Mom said no!

While the cookies cooked...
We put out the Reindeer Chow from our visit with Santa Clause

Sprinkle Sprinkle

Putting out the cookies and milk.

See Mom I did it!

Finally I get to eat one of the cookies....

Our tradition on Christmas Eve is putting together a gift.

This year - It was the train table for Isaac.

Merry Christmas - From the Thomson's

I never did get into the photo studio for Christmas card photos this year.

So in lieu of that ... enjoy our visit with Santa Clause as your holiday greeting from us!

Chad and I did not realize there would be "family photo" opportunities (or I would have made the big boys come and dressed Chad up a bit more).

 "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas
Lean your ear this way
Don't you tell a single soul
What I'm going to say"

"Christmas Eve is Coming Soon
Now you dear Old Man
Whisper what you'll bring to me
Tell me if you can"

High Fives all around
Isaac's on the Good List!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Christmas By The Lake

Last weekend
Christmas by the Lake
Time with Family
Lots of Fun
Busy Busy Busy...

First stop - Breakfast with Santa - No Pics - Too busy eating and chatting with old friends.

Next Stop - Santa's Workshop

First to make - A jingle bell necklace (see blue necklace in photo) -

Then - A candy cane.... Made independently by my 2 year old.
I was impressed.
He did the pattern (independently for all but 2 pieces)
He used awesome fine motor skills to put the pieces on.

Yeah - That's me.... Somebody stole my camera from me....

Next - A Picture with Santa.
Hoping to make a trip to the mall - The santa there ROCKS!
Think... Miracle on 34th Street

We also hit a craft fair - Got a really great Christmas book.
Then the boys took naps while the girls (and Woody) took a tour of homes.
Love seeing the homes all festive!

After naps, we went downtown.
Talk about a perfect winter wonderland!
Snow, hot chocolate and characters....Could you ask for more?

Let's just say - Isaac LOVES snow.  This was the first time he really enjoyed playing in it.  He cried when we had to go in and giggled just to get to go out in it.  We have a fun winter ahead of us!

The rest of the pictures are of Grandpa and Isaac....
Please note Uncle Jeff..... They found the tractor and ISAAC WAS IN HEAVEN!
Thank you again for spoiling my little guy!

Oh - and one other part of the weekend... Isaac decided on the Monday before we went to CL that he was ready to potty train so in the midst of all this fun.... we started that adventure.

It really has not been all that bad (lots of laundry but not too bad).  Isaac really does get it and I am thankful that we may have this pretty well under our belts by Christmas.  I think Santa will be bringing us some new undies!  Just the last few nights, he has been waking up to go - keeping his diaper dry at both nap and at bedtime.  I just didn't think it was gonna go so smoothly.  Glad we waited til he was a little older and he was ready.  He just seems to get it!  Can't believe that the diaper stage is almost done..... hmmm maybe that means it is time for another????  hahahaha.... only if we suddenly fall into money.... daycare'll drown ya!

Til next time!
