Baby Cakes

I am not a baker.

I can not sew very well.

I have not kept up on any of the kids' scrapbooks.

BUT...

I can still be creative every now and again!

When my friend Rachael was pregnant with her first babe Emma, someone (I think her mom) made one of the diaper cakes. I vaguely recalled what it looked like so I gave it a try. I think the end product turned out pretty cute! Isaac and I delivered it to Jill and Baby Boy Ramirez on Thursday for her baby shower.

We went to Clear Lake for the weekend. We went to surprise Annie since she got her RN license for the state of Iowa. We took some ictures and video, but I haven't downloaded them from my camera yet. It was a fun trip. We will head back again for the 4th of July weekend. I will post pictures tomorrow (hopefully!)

It's the little things....

Okay, so many of you who know me, know that I don't particularly like feet. Okay Okay who am I kidding, I hate feet. I think they are gross, dirty and altogether ugh! However, right now there is just the cutest pair of feet living in my house. I couldn't resist the photo op yesterday. I don't claim to be a great photographer, but I am kind of proud of these.

I also love the little fingers that go with those little toes.

Strangely enough I recall one of my paraprofessionals at school telling me that I would love these feet regardless of my foot issues. I swore up and down that I disagreed. I must now admit that I was wrong...way wrong.

Bath Time/Play Time

Our little man is now 8 weeks old. He is spending so much more time awake and actually enjoys bath time now. He used to hate it because we did it after he'd wake up and before he ate because eating usually produced bodily functions. That would've been gross in the water!

Yep - His legs are busy in the water and just as I snapped the picture... He kicked the blanket off revealing himself. I had to edit it ... silly boy!

Isaac is also getting very good at holding his head up to look around the room. He follows Murphy (our dog) from side to side. Murphy likes to pace around him. I guess he thinks he is guarding him or something.

Life has been pretty quiet around here. We have been cleaning and organizing with the two older boys gone. Unfortunately, as the saying goes, the mess is seeming to get worse before it gets better.

So....Here's the picture

This was in the folder labeled Fall 2007, which translates into August through October. This picture is from late August at the Nebraska State Fair. My two step-sons Chris and Shawn are holding the Alligator from one of the exhibits. I love Shawn's missing front teeth! They both look so little. Shawn had just turned 7 and Chris was 9. Thanks Traci... This was a great pic and a nice memory since the kids are gone visiting their mom for the summer.
