Isaac has been growing up so much lately, I hardly feel like he is a baby anymore. Makes me a little sad, but also so excited to see all the new things he is learning everyday. He is such a copy cat and chatterbox. I thought I should quickly update what he is up to at 14 months old.

14 months

Isaac

* is fully mobile. He walks everywhere and sometimes runs.

* says momma, daddy, yes, uh-oh, oh me, oh my, and all done on a consistent basis.

* signs more, milk and up.

* scrunches his nose when he is being silly and then breathes in and out fast to make you laugh at him.

* goes down the stairs facing forwards. He refuses to go on his belly which scares the tar out of me (we have had a few tumbles down the stairs).

* has figured out all things BOY. He climbs furniture, tumbles off furniture, plays in the mud (at least one change of clothes at daycare required), chases the dog, and plays ball (recently figured out throwing and catching...sort of)

* sleeps 11-12 hours a night! To bed by 8:15 and awake by 7:30 or 8:00.

* does not use the pacifier at all except for bedtime (hopefully that will be gone altogether by the end of next week - Wish us luck!)

* has 7 teeth - 4 on top, 3 on the bottom

* eats very little baby food.

* is finally eating table foods for most meals.

* Fruit that he likes -

- Pears

- Strawberries

- Peaches

- Apples

- Applesauce

* Vegetables that he likes -

- Broccoli

- Squash

- Green Beans (with Ranch Dressing on it - Blech! -

though I don't have room to talk - I ate them with mustard when I was little)

- Peas (with Ranch Dressing on it - Ew!)

- Sweet Potatoes (with some not so healthy toppings :)

* Isaac also likes most meats, potatoes, and pastas.

* loves dipping everything. Dips include ketchup, ranch, hummus, and yogurt.

* imitates things we do and say.

* started swimming lessons on Saturday June 12.

I tried to post a short video, but it is not loading. That's what our little guy is up to these days. Keeping us busy and entertained and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Swagger Wagon

Yep....
That's Right!
We got it!
The Swagger Wagon!

Starting off June with a bang...

We started off June by
Selling our boat!
We decided that with a little guy and no big kids during the summer months
we did not get the value out of the boat.
The pool may be next to go.... more to come on that!
This last weekend, Omaha had Sand in the City.
Local businesses created sculptures out of sand.
I love this pins face!
Dr. Seuss is always kid friendly.

Isaac has become ALL boy. He climbs everything, plays in the mud, likes everything messy or ornery, kicks and throws balls, figured out how to play with the dog, and chatters non-stop. Only a few words are intelligible (more to come on that with a 14 month update) but he is hilarious, especially in the car.
How can you resist that face?
This is the face we get when he is doing something he knows he should not be doing. He turns around and give us a cheezy grin as if to say, "What are you gonna do about me now?"

But really, how can you resist this face?
I mean.... I personally think he is irresistably adorable!
(Grandma - Look Close and you can see my new tooth. See it on the bottom? I have another one coming in on the other side too!)

And last.... but NOT least....

We rounded out the first few days of June by buying....
a brand new (238 miles on the odometer) 2011 Toyota Sienna.

Isn't it purdy?
Well... with all this busy(ness) I am exhausted.
Be back with more pictures soon!

Yummy Food

With the big boys on their way to their mom's house for the summer (sniff sniff), Isaac and I enjoyed a day at home being silly inside and trying new foods.

I had given him large chunks of pineapple before when he was teething. The coldness felt good on his gums and I thought maybe that was the root of his crabbiness today so I hooked him up with a decent adult-bite sized chunk.

I turned around.... just moments later and saw this face staring back at me.
Little stinker put the whole thing in his mouth, mashed it up and swallowed it.

Then....

Went desperately looking for more.

Ahhh! This is good stuff
Just before this picture, he held his hand out to me and offered me a bite. Love the sharing... not the slime. Great day with the little kiddo!

He has definitely mastered the art of the saying "HI." It is one of the cutest things ever. Just in the past two days, he has come up, said "Hi" and then melted into me for a hug or a kiss.
I was greeted this morning over the edge of the crib with Hi and a kiss too. Oh man... I love this kid! Parenting him is a joy and watching him grow and learn is so much fun. He is imitating EVERYTHING and finds humor in trying to say the same thing we say. Check it out!

Graduation Day!

Chris has successfully finished his first 7 years of school!

(His teacher is VERY pregnant)

Now he's off to Middle School in August!
7th Grade here we come!!!

Shawn's Birthday (early)

Shawn has spent his birthday with his mom for the past 4 years. We decided that this year we would have a party for him before he left.

The boys all went bowling.

Notice the Iron Man shirt.... and the Iron Man cake (notice a personal theme)

Opening Presents was definitely a highlight

This picture has me cracking up.
The boys were hilarious all afternoon.
Shawn had a blast!
We only spent the next 3 days trying to explain that he
is not really 10 years old yet.
He is convinced that because he had a birthday party,
he is now 10.
Gotta Love It!
