Helping Daddy

This age has been so much fun, and so much work all at the same time.

This post will try to focus on one of the FUN parts.

I love that Isaac is very interested in "helping" with everything.
Sometimes it can be bothersome, but he helped build his playset in the backyard (he brought the right number of screws to his dad or I)
and he also helped us build the cabinets we installed in the kitchen.

Taking all the pieces out of the box.
Finding a bandaid in the hardware bag... in place of the hardware.  EWWW!!!
 Silly!!!

Award

Dear Husband does not make it onto the blog too often but this one is all about him.

He recently accepted (was offered) a new position.
That means that he said good-bye to a group of guys/gals who he enjoyed working with a lot.

Because he transferred jobs in the summer, Isaac and I were actually able to attend his going away luncheon and see them present him an award.

Congratulations Babe!
Super proud of you and excited to see what new opportunities await around the next corner.

Sliding

As summer was winding down, we made a trip to the Omaha slides.

The kids had a blast and going up and down the slides made them all exhausted!

These three could be trouble in the future!  Man are they cute together though!
and they all play pretty well together too .... well, unless they bite (like my kid!).

The End of Summer

My Baby Boy

Can't believe that our summer is once again over.
Next week I go back to work and Isaac heads back to daycare.
I have been so lucky to share the last 6 1/2 weeks with him.

We have enjoyed the Zoo, the Children's Museum, the Welcome Center, the Library, the parks, time with family, time with friends, and most of all time together.

I still cannot believe that it was already 2 years ago that he first went to daycare.  He has learned so much over the last 2 years.  It will be fun to see what new things he learns at Sherri's this year.  Now that he is 2, he is able to join the "activity" part of Pre-School each day.  He will be coloring, cutting, and creating each day along with the songs and calendar time (that he already totally gets).

I love you so much Isaac Steven.  Thanks for being my baby boy - even if you aren't really a baby anymore!

**** In other news ****

Chad makes the 8 hour drive tomorrow to pick up the big boys (Chris and Shawn).  This is always a challenging time for our family as we reintegrate the boys and revisit our rules and expectations.  In addition this year, it will be a transition for Isaac to have them back.  If you think of it or have a minute, could you say a little prayer for us..... that the transition will go smoothly, that relationships will be renewed and rebuilt, and that we will all be willing to work at the challenges that are ahead.

Thanks!
Katie (and Chad and Isaac)

Pretty Tasty Dirt!
"See Mom, I got a worm!"

Things got a little dirty FUN outside today...
Hey - If ya can't get a little dirty while your playing... then bleach and SHOUT are not worth much!
and the messy-er you are.... the more fun you had right?

Enjoying the days of summer

We've been spending every minute outside possible (when it is not 800 degrees outside).

We've also spent a lot of time hanging out with our friends the Ramirez's.

Practicing his mad soccer skills
 Goofy Boy #1...
and his twinkie Goofy boy #2
Our neighborhood is trying to get a water park put into the city park right behind our house.
We went to the fundraiser and the kids got to enjoy time with the firetruck.
Oh - My -
Doesn't this say.... TROUBLE!!!

Checkin' out how it all works

and wrestling with Daddy is an all-time favorite activity when the weather is too hot outside!

Gotta Love Summer!!!
