I would say that Isaac's 3rd birthday was a huge success.  

He is one very loved little boy. 

I thank God everyday for letting him be my little boy. 

Kinda sad though that he is not so little anymore!

For the party, we rented a Bounce and Slide package from the Base Outdoor Rec Dept. 

Yeah - They filled the backyard.

More Birthday Fun to Come! 

3 ingredients

That's it.....

3 ingredients!

SPICY CHICKEN

Chicken (8 chicken breasts frozen)
Cookies Wings N' Things (3/4 a bottle)
Ranch Dressing Packet (dry)

Put these 3 into the crockpot on low for 6 - 8 hours and VOILA!

We had this chicken shredded..... so when then 6 - 8 hours was up, I used my kitchen choppers (mentioned before from Pampered Chef) and shredded them right in the crockpot.

Then stir it up and let it cook for about 30 more minutes.

Then we had 2 dinners plus some leftovers and some lunches - makes  A LOT.

We had it on hot dog buns with melted cheese on it.
We ate it inside enchiladas.
We ate it plain.
The boys ate it like loose meat sandwiches.

All around - it was a yum!  (I had to make Isaac something different - plain chicken b/c it was a little too spicy for him).

Busy Week Ahead

This week is going to be a busy one....

I am out of my classroom for 3 out of the 5 days this week!  Yikes!  3 days of sub plans.... Goodness!

Chad starts a new math class - 10 weeks - could be a challenge!

Shawn has a band concert on Tuesday night.

Isaac's daycare provider has surgery on Wednesday.  She is not taking kids Wed - Friday.  Pray she recovers well so that the kids will be able to return on Monday.  Chad has Isaac Wed, Thurs.  I am home with him on Friday. 

This weekend my family comes to visit!!!  Hooray!!!  Can't wait!

Isaac has his birthday party on Saturday night (which means we have to go pick up and set up a bounce house and get the food all ready!)  It also means that this is the deadline for the deck completion! ACK!!!

I do have a yummy recipe to share..... maybe later this week

Track and Field

 I love my kids.  I love watching them enjoy activities.  I love seeing them be active.
I love sitting on the sidelines and cheering them on.  I love meeting other moms who
are there to do the same thing.

I learned a new lesson on Friday however.
I do NOT love Track and Field.

Don't get me wrong.  I still love seeing my kid on the track and having fun but the whole idea of sitting around waiting nearly an hour for him to run the hurdles for 10.26 seconds, while trying to entertain a 3 year old who doesn't understand why his brother won't play with him.... is hard and rather boring really.

 Nevertheless - Chris did great - Don't really understand the "enjoyment" of the sport but hey - Whatever floats your boat I guess.

We will work on his form for the hurdles though!

 Thankfully, we also got to enjoy a 7 minute mile run.   (Yep - a little sarcasm there!)

In 2nd Place

There he goes.

He finished in 9th place overall for the mile run.  I think he would have done better overall had he not shot to the front in the beginning and tried to keep pace with the leader for a lap and a half.   But I can't run a 7 minute mile so he major steps ahead of me!

The Lower Deck

When we first moved in to our house in June of 2006, the first "couple" project we tackled was the upper deck.  We completely tore it down.

We would work into the night by way of flood light.

Last summer we took out the pool.  The big kids were never here in the summer (ironic as they will both be here this summer!) and I was freaked out that Isaac would fall in and drown.

Anyway we spent last summer fixing the yard, laying sod, getting rid of everything pool related.

This summer our project was going to be the bottom deck.

I guess we decided it should be a spring project with a due date of next weekend - for Isaac's birthday party.

Here is where we are at tonight. 

Hoping the bad weather doesn't destroy it after all the hard work has been done.  Hoping tomorrow the deckboards can go on and be ready to go.
