Living Room Pictures

The new "accent" wall in our living room

The lilies were the first part of the transformation.
Behind them is a picture of a wolf.
Not that it wasn't a decent photo,
I just thought this was a bit....
nicer.

The picture got changed a couple months ago, and thus inspired the rest of the colors for the living room.

The other walls are a light gray/white color.  It looks so fresh and clean!

These pictures were taken at JC Penney's.  My mom and I bought boards, painted them black and then decoupaged the pictures to the boards.  They are my favorite part of the living room.
The flower was my mother's day gift, and the candle is a little piece of my sister (a gift from her!)

A recent picture of the boys and a family sign.  The sign was made by Andrea.  Nope - I don't know her but I this is the one and only thing I have ever won off a blog contest.  I love it!  Thanks Andrea.  You can check her out at ... - Signs by Andrea

The last shelf holds items to remind us of our wedding day.
The statue (I believe ... hey the day was almost 6 years ago and a lot has happened in those 6 years!) was given to us as a gift.  It is a man & woman holding each other with the phrase "to have and to hold" across the bottom.  The bouquet of flowers are mine from the wedding.  I picked them out, arranged them and made the bouquet on a whim one day before the wedding.  Still like them to this day!

So there you have it... our new wall!

Sometimes.
My Boys.
Get a Case.
Of the
Saturday
Morning
Sillies!

This little one sure loves to rough house....He can hang right in there with his big brothers,
but he loves when daddy jumps into the sillies too.

Ever wonder if Isaac loves his older brothers...

These photos just make me smile every time.
They get along so well!

and of course
if Chris does it, then
Isaac does it too!

It all goes well
until
you get stuck

in a bucket!

This is what Summer is all about!

Meeting up with friends and playing at the park til dark!
Love these two cheeseballs!

Loving the slides

Playing soccer til dusk with a partially deflated volleyball.

Calling out messages across the playground

Talking back with silly messages

Hanging out with friends.

These 3 typically get along so well.... my very hot and tired little boy however decided to break his streak this summer and bite Z at the end of the night.... what a crummy way to end the fun!

Isaac-isms

Oh my - Isaac was in rare silly form tonight.... here are just a few of the silly things he had going on.

(m) oh really

(I) mmhmm Isaac is a person mom (said with that "come on you know that mom" tone)

(m) so what's a Shawn?

(I) he's like a boy

(m) oh I see.... and what else

(I) a boy with a horse head (insert hysterical laughing from everyone)

(m) what's a daddy?

(I) a horse head man too

(m) you are so silly!

(m) What's a mommy

(I) a geerul (girl said with a cute 3 yr old twang)

(m) so Mommy is a girl?

(I) yep

(I) flushes the potty and flushes it again.

Fun with Grandma

In between coats of paint and wall paper removal, we found some fun with Grandma.

This day - we went to the zoo.
No stroller means we can go see the butterflies!

Grandma is pointing out the butterfly on the leaves.

We also saw the zebra and the zebra baby - had a discussion on the feeding taking place too.
Then we came across a wild animal.....

Hunting in the grass....

Not really scary....

Hiding and ready to pounce...

It's Grandma!!!

Pretty Birds

Goofy Kid!

Ending our time by feeding the fish... and getting a lil' 1:1 from Grandma

Prepping for a sale

Step One -
Plan for a 5 day visit from Mom!

Step Two -
Pick a paint color for the living room, kitchen, hallway, and entry way

Step 3 -
Strip all the nasty wall paper you can and tape for painting

Step 4 thru ??? are not able to be posted b/c they are the finished product, but somewhere in the middle
maybe around step 7 - 10 -
Enlist the help of a big kid....
don't worry - he's getting paid for helping so.... he was willing (somewhat!)

Be sure to include the cheesy grin!

And then be sure to include the really helpful - willing - begging mess maker painter.

See that grin - yeah - it made his day to help out!

A touch of the finished product.... more pictures to come!

Independence...

Can you tell what he did all by himself in this picture?

Gotta love independence!
